R-H - Hero Story

Based on an old fanfic idea for Ron and Hermione. This is actually the third picture me and my sister ~RogueDragon have done of this scene. Rogue did the first one and remembers it as being her FIRST R/H art.

Anyway, the STORY goes like this:

Hermione and Ron take it upon themselves to rescue Harry, who has been captured by the dark lord. Their road has been a long, dark one with death eaters and dementors out to stop them. At one point a death eater jumps the rescuing duo and Blasts at Ron and Hermione. Hermione, with her great knowledge and fast thinking counters the curse, only to have the death eater send another one. This spell Hermione is unable to block properly and causes her wand to explode. She, Ron and the death eater are blasted several meters. Ron recovers the fastest and quickly stops the death eater with the good ol petrificus totalus. He runs to hermione's side, she can't move her leg.
"I think it's broken!"
"Oh there must be some way to fix it!" Ron says
Hermione shakes her head. "Well, there's the good ol splint."
Ron looks at the confused. Hermione explains to him how to make a splint as they wrap up her leg with strips torn from their robes and sticks they found in the forest. Ron asks her where she learned how to make one.
"Once upon a time, I didn't know I was a witch. Then... I was a girl scout (Girl Guide)"
Ron begins to insist that they turn back, she was too badly injured and it was too risky for her. Hermione starts to argue with him.
"We can't go back now! We've come too far. We have to go after Harry! He's far more important than I am!"
"You're not any good dead!" Ron yells at her.
"I would never forgive myself if something happened to him!" She yells back.
"I would never forgive myself if soemthing happened to you!" There is a startling pause after Ron says this. They're both surprised he said it. Hermione begins calmly.
"Ron... I'll be alright. I'll just need your help" At this Ron nods and picks the young woman up into his arms. Hermione puts her arms around Rons neck and they continue to move on.
After going a ways, Ron, who is awkward enough carrying Hermione, he tires to also keep his wand at the ready. Irritatedly, Hermione yanks his wand out of his hand.
"You do the walking, I'll do the magic-ing!" Hermione rolls her eyes at him.
"Hmm, I've never felt safer" Ron smiles at her, his face close to hers as he carries her.
"Funny..." Hermione says quietly smiling, "Niether have I."
